CONSUMERS RIGHT TO INFORMATION
One of the basic rights of the consumer is to receive information about the product.
Only necessary, accessible, reliable and timely product information can provide an opportunity for conscious and competent consumer choice.
Being the consumer, you have the right to receive the following information:
Product name, name or reproduction of a trademark.
Data on the main properties of the product, nominal quantity (weight, volume, etc.).
Information on the content of harmful substances established by law.
Indication of the presence of genetically modified organisms in the product.
Data on the price (tariff), conditions and rules of purchase of production.
The price of the product must include all taxes and non-tax mandatory payments paid by the consumer.
The terms "sale", "discount" and "promotion" are used only if the conditions specified by law
Date of manufacture and expiration date of the goods (consequences of work), information on the necessary actions of the consumer after their completion, as well as the possible consequences in case of non-compliance with these actions;
Warranty obligations of the manufacturer (performer)
Information on storage conditions and rules and conditions of efficient and safe use of products;
Name and location of the manufacturer (performer, seller) and the enterprise that performs its functions of accepting claims from the consumer, as well as repairs and maintenance
For some categories of goods or services, additional information requirements are set (in particular, for food).
The manufacturer or seller must provide data before the consumer purchases the product or orders the work.
Data about the product or service must be posted:
- in the accompanying documentation attached to the product,
- on the label,
- in the labeling
- in places where products are sold,
- by means of remote communication (with the consent of the consumer)
The information may be indicated in another way. The main thing is to follow the available visual form.
Such information is not advertising. The legislation establishes liability for inaccurate information.
